Adventure Riding
meets
the Alzheimer's Association
The Mission
I'm Mike and my goal is to inspire others to support the Alzheimer's Association.
My sweet mom Sandi died in 2019 after a battle with Alzheimer's, and my sister Liz devoted several years of her life to care for our mom. Everywhere I turn, I find people with an Alzheimers battle in their tribe. In fact it's hard to find someone NOT in that situation. I've known so many people, and especially caregivers like Liz impacted by the disease. The disease is brutal on caregivers and it took years for Liz to recover. The Alzheimer's Association provides resources and programs for caregivers that were priceless to us.
Watching someone travel that hard road puts a lot in perspective and pushed me to do something to help make a positive impact. One of my passion's is 'adventure motorcycling' (mostly bumpy dirt roads through scenic nature). I decided to merge my love for ADV and my desire to help those affected by Alzheimer's.
100% of your donation will go to the Alzheimer's Association to fund research for prevention and a cure. It will also go to providing free resources for caregivers, like the Alzheimer's Association's 24/7 Helpline, available free of charge, around the clock, 365 days a year. Specialists and master's-level clinicians provide confidential support and information to people living with the disease, caregivers, families and the public.

The Ride
Starting on June 21st 2025, I will ride the 5000-mile, mostly-dirt Trans America Trail from Cape Hatteras, North Carolina to Cape Blanco Oregon, bringing attention to the cause.

Sam Correro, who created the Trans America Trail and has been mapping it since the 80's, describes it best on his website transamtrail.com...
"From scenic vistas and unique attractions to rough terrain and challenging conditions, the TAT presents every rider with the opportunity for an unforgettable journey and memories that will last a lifetime. Depending on the weather and location, riders may face challenges including mud, sand, snow, and rocks among others...[The] trail is made up of dirt, gravel, forest, farm, and brief sections of paved roads..."
Knowing so many of my friends and fellow riders have felt the impact of Alzheimer's just like me, it was a no-brainer to make this personal bucket list ride an opportunity to help the Alzheimer's Association continue to do the crucial work they do.
